The timber industry represented by computer operation desk, floor and furniture is one of the traditional advantageous industries and characteristic industries in Changzhou. After more than 30 years of development, the timber industry cluster in Changzhou has been basically formed. From February 16 to 17, the Secretariat of the Global Green Supply Chains Initiative (the GGSC Secretariat) visited Changzhou, Jiangsu Province to investigate the development of local timber industry, and invited local leading enterprises to participate into the "Global Timber Index (GTI) " Project.

Organized by Changzhou Floor Association, the secretariat went to Jiangsu Zhongxin Co., LTD., Jiangsu LODGI floor, Jiangsu Kelida decoration Co., LTD., Jiangsu Liangshi Co., LTD., LIAMAX new material Tech, Changzhou Tianrun timber industry Co., LTD., and Changzhoushi Shuangai furniture for field study and visited their exhibition hall and factory, discussed with the managers and staff to deeply understand the development in recent 30 years.

On February 17, with the support of Changzhou Flooring Association, the GGSC Secretariat held a conversazione of the GTI project with local timber enterprises.  

 At the meeting, the secretariat introduced the work contents of GGSC and the outputs of GTI projects and gave a brief introduction of filling the GTI index. Changzhou Flooring Association attaches great importance to the role and significance of GTI project to Changzhou timber industry and said that it will actively organize local enterprises to participate in the follow-up activities organized by GTI platform and GGSC.
