On March 7, the Secretariat of the Global Green Supply Chains Initiative (the GGSC Secretariat) went to Malaysia and communite with the local focal point of the Global Timber Index (GTI) platform. Representatives of the Ministry of Plantation & Commodities, Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) and the GGSC Secretariat attended the meeting.

The representatives of the GGSC Secretariat expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Plantation & Commodities and the Malaysian Timber Council for their support to the work of the GTI platform, and introduced the progress of the implementation of the GTI project and the considerations for further work. Representatives of the Ministry of Plantation & Commodities and the Malaysian Timber Council highly recognized the Global Timber Index (GTI) project and looked forward to strengthening cooperation with the GGSC Secretariat to further build the GTI platform. Representatives of the two sides also had depth communites on the development of the Malaysian timber industry.
