On September 6th, the Secretariat of Global Green Supply Chains Initiative (GGSC) and the Asia-Pacific Forest Network Management Center of China's National Forestry and Grassland Administration held a meeting to discuss some of GGSC's key projects. The meeting was attended by the project team of GGSC Secretariat, and the leaders of the Asia-Pacific Forest Network Management Center, including the center’s Director Hu Yuanhui, and two heads of its departments.
During the meeting, the project leaders of the GGSC Secretariat provided an overview of the Global Timber Index (GTI) platform and shared the findings of their on-site research conducted in African countries.
Director Hu Yuanhui expressed his appreciation for the potential of the Global Timber Index (GTI) platform as well as the findings from the research conducted in Africa. He also offered valuable suggestions for GGSC's related work.
The Global Green Supply Chains Initiative is a global platform launched with the support of the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), aiming to serve the sustainable development of the forestry industry. It is undertaking projects such as the Global Timber Index (GTI) platform, cross-border timber traceability, and international forums & exhibitions (e.g., the upcoming Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum (GLSTF) 2023).
