The Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum (GLSTF) 2024 has been honored with the Brand Convention Award at the “Macao Convention and Exhibition Commendation Awards 2024” ceremony. The awarding ceremony took place on December 3, 2024 at the Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Center as part of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) of the People’s Republic of China.

The award highlights the GLSTF's pivotal role in promoting legal and sustainable timber practices through its groundbreaking conferences and activities, advancing critical dialogues on environmental stewardship and compliance.
This year’s ceremony highlighted "industry + conventions" and the synergistic development of Macao and Hengqin, which aligns with the "1+4" diversified development strategy laid out in the Macao’s economic development plan for 2024-2028.
The GLSTF 2024, which brought together nearly 800 participants from 40 countries, has set itself apart by uniting global stakeholders, including policymakers, industry leaders, and environmental advocates, to address critical issues in international forestry and the timber trade agenda, resonating strongly with the jury, comprised of key figures from Macao's business and exhibition industries.
Mr Vincent U, President of Macao IPIM said, “This award is a resounding acknowledgment of ITTO’s pivotal role in fostering a legal and sustainable timber industry and also highlights its significant contributions to Macao’s convention and exhibition industry.”

The Forum, which is co-hosted by ITTO and the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute, Macao SAR (IPIM) and organized by the Global Green Supply Chains Initiative (GGSC), aims to strengthen sustainable forest management by promoting the adoption of legal and sustainable wood supply chains, facilitating responsible trade and use of wood products within a stable, transparent, and predictable business environment, and advancing sustainable development while supporting climate change mitigation efforts.
