Academy of Forestry Inventory and Planning of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China is a production, science and technology research based public welfare secondary institution directly under the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. Since its establishment in 1954, it has been adhering to the spirit of "Professionalism, Dedication, Factualism, Innovation", and the quality policy of "leading innovation and rigorous excellence". The Academy undertakes the following business: inventory, monitoring and evaluation of natural resources such as forests, wetlands, grasslands, desertification and desertification, wild animals and plants, as well as forest and grass carbon sinks, ecological conditions and natural reserves, planning and design, information construction, new technology application, research and development, etc.

The Academy owns forestry survey planning and design, engineering surveying and mapping, engineering consulting, engineering design, engineering supervision, landscape garden engineering design, tourism planning and design qualification certificates (credit), passed the quality, environment, occupational health and safety management system certification. The Academy has advanced computer systems, data processing and management systems, high-tech development and application systems, and surveying and mapping engineering equipment. There are about 300 employees. Among them, more than 94% are professional and technical personnel, 40% of them hold masters and PHD degrees, half of them awarded as senior professional titles, and more than 40 of them are registered consulting engineers and supervision engineers; 34 of them enjoys the special government allowance, and 10 of them are listed in the provincial and ministerial level "10 million" talents. Overall, the Academy has a professional technical team with strong technical force, innovation ability and rich practical experience, and covering complete professional categories.
