◆ The sustainable development of the forestry industry is an issue that Chinese and Asian-funded companies operating in Africa must face and think about. The wood industry is a traditional industry. With the development of the global economy and global integration, its development is about to enter a mature stage. The core problem of enterprises operaitng in African is how to achieve sustainable forest management and maintain healthy forests with ecological functions. It requires both external investment and enterprises’ own capacity.

◆ Enterprise development can bring local economic vitality, employment oppotunities and the training of local residents, and promote the economy development of the host country. Economic integration allows us to operate in Africa and Africa to be connected with the world. This is a synchronous process. I believe that, in the future, the upgrading of Gabon ’s forest products will progress faster, giving legal companies more space for development, and getting ride of illgal companies.

◆ For one hand, we have to protect forests, for the other hand, we need develop forest products, promote economic development. It seems contradictory, but non-contradictory in another way. It refers that, if forest is reasonably and sustainably used, it can generate values which would benefit the society.

◆ To make your products globally recognized, it is necessary to improve the traceability, and ensure the traceability system is transparency, to upgrade the products.

◆ Call on governments, enterprises, international organizations, banks, industry associations to work together to establish development funds and green supply chain systems and mechanisms, so that enterprises of which the timber legality traceability is recognized and clear can obtain more opportunities for development. In this way, all unqualified enterprises will be expelled from the market.

◆ Biological power generation is an important part of the wood industry. It uses waste and miscellaneous wood for reasonable decomposition and treatment, and then produce different grade of activated carbon and other carbon. It can be used for carbonic acid treatment and biological treatment, while generating power. In this way, the utilization rate of wood resources will be improved, showing a broad future prospects.
