On August 5, 2026, the Global Timber Index (GTI) Platform Sustainable Timber and Home Products Online Supply-Demand Exchange Meeting (Thailand Session) was successfully held in Jiangsu, China. Co-hosted by the Global Green Supply Chains Initiative (GGSC) and the Thai Timber Association (TTA), and closely coordinated with the China Wood Protection Industry Association, the event was designed to deepen green cooperation between China and Thailand's timber sectors and advance sustainable development in the global timber industry.

Xing Xiaobo, Executive Vice President of the China Wood Protection Industry Association, attended and delivered remarks. He noted that the global timber industry is at a critical stage of green transformation, and that strengthening international cooperation is a key strategy to counter market volatility and facilitate high‑quality outbound expansion for China's timber sector. His association regularly releases the Wood Purchasing Managers' Index (WPMI), using digital data to guide quality‑driven industry upgrading. Mr. Jirawat Tangkijngamwong, Chairman of the Thai Timber Association (TTA), provided an overview of the local industry and market landscape; Ms. Gao Xuting, Deputy Secretary‑General of the GGSC, introduced the GTI platform's development progress, current milestones, and future roadmap.

The meeting brought together representatives from Chinese industry associations, leading timber and home furnishing enterprises, industrial park research institutes, and local industry and information technology authorities. Attendees included Yang Xiaoguang, Chairman of Jiangsu Huiyang New Materials, and Li Wenxin, General Manager; Li Jiacong, General Manager of Shangpin Home Collection; He Pei, Dean of the Industrial Park Innovation Research Institute at Pan-China Construction Group; Jia Huanliang, Deputy Director of the Commercial Operation Division at Tubao Home Furnishings; Yao Yuewei, Deputy Dean of the Research Institute at Shenghua Yunfeng New Materials; Rong Bo, Deputy General Manager of Zhuangxiang Wood; Gui Jianxun, General Manager of Lubanyuan; Zhu Pengfei, Chairman of Luodiya Wood (Jiangsu); Qiao Guangbing, Director of the SME Service Center at Shuyang County Bureau of Industry and Information Technology; Ning Weidong, Vice President of Meikai Flooring; and Liu Guangzheng, Chairman of Shenzhen Jinguzi Wood Products.

Thai online participants represented a broad spectrum of forestry government agencies, state‑owned forestry bodies, industry associations, and upstream and downstream private processing and trading companies. More than ten Thai entities joined, including Thailand Royal Forest Department, the Forest Industry Organization (FIO) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Thai Timber Association (TTA), Burapha Group, Taveekij, Mailaivijit, Tree Technology, and others.

The exchange session was marked by a lively and constructive atmosphere, as Chinese and Thai companies took turns introducing their core businesses and cooperation needs, while exploring cross‑border opportunities and synergies for collaborative growth. The participating parties expressed a strong desire to deepen bilateral industrial linkages and co‑build green and sustainable timber supply chains, and they looked forward to leveraging this matchmaking opportunity to sustain regular dialogue and expand mutually beneficial partnership channels.
